Background

West Lothian Council identified the need for new cemetery facilities throughout
West Lothian and P1 was appointed Principal Contractor to design and build
Woodbank Cemetery.

Description of works

Adopted road access with controlled entrance
Car parking for 20nr vehicles (inc 2 disabled bays)
Secure Council works storage area
Vehicle turning circle
New build waiting facility and works bothy
Access paths and vehicle routes with circulation to a potential 150 lairs in phase 1 with enabling works for future expansion
Drainage works – surface and foul (including infrastructure for future phases)
Fencing works to boundaries
Feature drystone walling realignment replacements and repairs to existing
All design services inc – Landscape, Civics, Structural, M&E, transportation
Approvals, relating for building warrants, planning consents and technical approvals

After negotiating way-leave issues with adjacent landowner, P1 completed this project to the satisfaction of WLDC and earlier than similar packages awarded by WLDC.
