Richard joined P1 Contractors in 2015 as a Contracts Manager and was appointed Director the following year, working between our Linlithgow & Glasgow offices.

With over 30 years of experience in the landscaping industry, Richard began his career as an apprentice gardener with a local authority before progressing through a variety of operational and management roles. His hands-on background gives him a deep understanding of both the practical and commercial aspects of landscape contracting.

As Director, Richard holds overall operational and commercial responsibility for P1 Contractors’ landscaping activities across Scotland. He oversees projects delivered on behalf of local authorities, public bodies, and main contractors, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Under Richard’s leadership, P1 Contractors has experienced significant growth and diversification since 2015. His commitment to attention to detail, customer focus, and delivering excellence from contract implementation through to completion continues to drive the company’s success and strengthen its reputation within the industry.
